Lighting Setup

Since we shot in black and white, the yellow light found in the streets becomes a hard but very useful light source. To allow more lighting control and to get more detail and texture from the clothes, we used an simple light source:The GoDox AR400 ring flash.

This provides an interesting effect when used off camera: It's not going to be as great or as soft as a soft-box, beauty dish or large LED panel, however it's still large enough so that the light it makes is just soft enough to be usable as the sole light source. The reason I went for this light is that due to the nature of the shoot, soft/smooth lighting will not be hard enough to create shadows/drama that add detail and mood to the shoot.
